About Us

Helping Paws in Chambers County is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was created in hopes to raise awareness and find solutions concerning the neglected and homeless pets in our community.  As many of you know, cost, accessibility, and knowledge are three major obstacles for many people in Anahuac and the surrounding areas. It is unclear all of the efforts that have been tried in the past, but one thing that remains clear is our pet population continues to need our assistance.

According to the latest research and data, every year, over 6.5 million dogs and cats, and other household pets are surrendered to animal shelters. Sadly, only a fraction of these animals are adopted which tragically leads to euthanasia. 

Our hope is to find affordable and accessible spay/neuter options, to have general veterinarian care available for these pets, to review the current laws in place by our local government, to educate others on the importance of spaying and neutering pets, to be able to outreach to parts of our community that need it most, and to be the voice for our voiceless furry friends.
